Grace Elizabeth "Gracie" Caron, 91, Sarasota for over 50 years, formerly of Kankakee, Ill., died Jan. 1, 2008. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, with services to follow at the Pines of Sarasota. Palms-Robarts Funeral Home in Sarasota handled arrangements. Survivors include her son, Roger J. of Sarasota; grandsons Stephen M. of Brandon and David P. of Sarasota; and great-grandchildren Tyler and Elizabeth. Gracie was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Caron Sr; and their son, Howard A. Caron Jr. Mrs. Caron was a realtor for Century 21 Realty and was the first female car salesperson in Sarasota for Anderson Ford. Among her activities, Gracie was an accomplished ballroom dancer and avid traveler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pines of Sarasota, 1501 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.
